Handed Over - Paid up letter
Foschini complaint I was placed under debt review during 2014. I subsequently withdrew voluntarily during 2015 and paid all my creditors directly. I called Foschini’s customer contact centre to obtain my monthly outstanding balance each month. I paid of approximately paid of R15700.00 or the original debt of R17000.00. On 2 February 2019 I have contacted the voice automated call centre and the automated system gave me a balance of R1265.
I then contacted Foschini to arrange final payment and obtain a paid up letter.
The Agent to my surprise said I must contact Eastern Berry for the outstanding balance. I was handed over. They have never contacted me and I was unaware that I was handed over. The Agent told me and confirmed in writing that I owe another R11 064 towards interest and collection commission. I contacted Foschini on several occasions to assist me. They refused and insist that I settle the matter with their Lawyers. I just need assistance regarding the interest aspect: 1. Eastern Berry charged me R8000-00 interest on the capital; 2. How is that possible if your call centre confirmed that I owe R1265. 3. Was the interest not deducted from my outstanding balance monthly? I have sent several emails and Foschini which I have not received the courtesy of a response. ID ********** 158083 J STRYDOM
