********** Foschini accounts-inside job

My son received several invitations to open an account with Foschini last year. He never did. Last month February 2019, he received a statement from Foschini demanding payment from him for the purchases allegedly done in December last year.. He has never lost his ID. How did Foschini open that account? He has supp**** an affidavit. He has now received an sms to supply a case number alternatively this case will remain open as unresolved. How will he open a case when he doesn't even know where the account was opened? If this is not an inside job, why doesn't Foschini inform my son where the account was opened and supply him with slips where my son alledgedly signed when he made purchases? Where are the documents used to open the account including the 3 months bank statements? Foschini has cameras in their branches, where is the footage? This seems like an inside job. Foschini must take responsibility. Obviously their risk control measures are relaxed for their ***** measures inside their company. Now my son, after managing his credit profile so responsibly, is going to be tarnished by Foschini's lack of risk management and transparency in handling ***** cases. I have an account with Foschini and I'm currently so incensed by their processes regarding my son's case. They're insensitive to the damage they're inflicting on innocent victims of their obviously *****-ridden processes.

My son went to SAPS to try and get the case number as per Foschini's sms. SAPS refused to open a case or even supply him with any incident number as he had no documents as proof of any crime or *****. He then went to the Westgate shopping centre Foschini branch to get assistance on this matter. He was informed all their phones are down as a result they couldn't call their head office to access any documentation. We were also informed that, this week alone, almost five people had approached Foschini at the Westgate shopping centre branch with the same issue. When we got home we called Foschini head office. They sent us a typed page with my son's details. That is allegedly their application form. They also sent us the branch where the card was issued. They could not send us all the documents such as the three months bank statements that are required when opening a Foschini account. They also could not send us a copy of the invoice where my son allegedly signed when making purchases. We now await to hear if SAPS will accept these flimsy documents received. As though there isn't enough selling of my son's information, he is now receiving invitations from Edgars to open an account. Just like Foschini, he never set foot in any Edgars branch nor supp**** them with any personal details to be contacted. Just what is going on with these clothing retailers? Are they so desperate that they'll *******ly share information and harass consumers with unending communication luring them to open accounts they don't need? I'm just so fed up.
