There is nothing more exciting than buying a new car, oh wait there is, buying a new car before your long overdue holiday. My 16 year old daughter and I have been planning our December holiday for months now, paid accommodation in Cape Town for Christmas, arranged a wonderful few days with our friends in the Garden Route for New Year, so excited. Found my next car online and have had wonderful service from the manager of the franchise I am buying the car from, imagine my surprise when I was denied my application after working so hard to keep a good credit record. 1. Foschini says I have an unpaid account opened in 2015 with opening credit of R9800, I know for a fact that this is not mine as in 2015 I could not have qualified for this on my salary and my x was defaulting on maintenance more often than not. 2. Silver solutions says I also have an unpaid loan, but I know for a fact that it was debited from my account in 2015 and is paid in full. Thank you ABSA for being so kind as to print the bank statements proving was is paid. After spending time getting affidavits at the police station, I made contact with Transunion on the 22 November to get a reference number for each complaint and their email address. I sent all the relevant documents. They say 20 days to clear the dispute. Waited a few days, then got a text stating that they needed my ID and proof of residence for my Foschini complaint, but I sent this on the 22 November already, resend. Wait. Another text saying they are waiting for my affidavit on my Foschini complaint, but this was sent in the same email on the 22 November already. Frustrated I sent it to the dealer I am working through and he emailed my email from the 22 November with all the documents to them and within 24 hours I received a text stating that they have all they need to proceed with the Foschini complaint. I have yet to receive notification on if they have received my Silver Solution documents. So then I decided maybe sending it through to Foschini themselves it will be sorted out sooner as time is ticking and I really do want my new car before leaving on holiday on the 20th December, so I email Foschini and guess what, they take 4-6 weeks to investigate *****. Do you not think that if Foschini took 4 – 6 weeks to approve credit maybe there would be less *****!
Transunion when does your 20 days start? Is it the date used as reference or the date you send notification that documents are received, curious as I still only have notification from the Foschini dispute dated 5 December and still nothing on the Silver Solutions dispute and it was sent before the Foschini dispute and forwarded with each time you said you hadn’t received the Foschini dispute. In fact I have counted 5 times that I have resent all documents since the 22 November.
