Foshini has no basic balance insurance!

Foshini, it turns out, is quite a useless credit provider. I have had an account with them for a very long time, and have been paying "Club Insurance" for all this time. At one point I wanted to cancel the magazine, but was told by the shop assistant that that would also cancel my account insurance.

Funny, as it turns out I didn't HAVE account insurance. I have now been retrenched and upon enquiry there is apparently nothing they can do but move my 6-month balance over to my 12 month plan, which in reality would then mean I would have to PAY THEM interest for being retrenched. WTH? The benefits available to me were an SMS when I buy at Foshini and some chances to win in lucky draws for educational bursaries. Gee, very real-world problems those are ...

Once this account is settled (however way I find, if I can) I don't think I shall be supporting Fochini again. I suggest everyone with a Foschini account consider doing the same, and especially ditching the useless "Account Benefits" and "Club Magazine."
