Foschini thinks I am a bottomless pit of money

I had a Foschini account which I have been trying to pay off. The balance on this account keeps increasing no matter how much I pay. On the 14th of May I paid R1000 and the balance became R4547.92. Today, 22 May, I made another R1000 payment and the balance now sits at R5473.83. I called Foschini because I expressly remember this account being at R3000 at some point, then they said this account was moved to Hammond Pole attorneys and theat they have no access to information on that account. I called Hammond Pole and they said that account was withdrawn from them long ago. So I am just throwing money at Foschini and they are just increasing the balance and don't want to take accountability.
