Foschini ripped me off

I bought a handbag at Foschini in September online. I started using it in November because when it was not delivered I was on leave and away for a month. The handbag has got chains that hang from one corner of the handbag to the other. These chains were attached to every corner of the handbag as if a magnet was holding them.

A weeks later, these chains started to move from the corners to the middle and all the time I had to manually move them to the proper place. I went to Foschini in West Street to find out if that is how the handbag was supposed to look. The response was that they do not have the handbag in store so they cannot know but by the look of it, it must be faulty.

I kept the handbag for the rest on the month but I was not happy at the same time I thought maybe that is how it is supposed to be. 21 December 2019 I went to the Pavillion Foschini and I spoke to Adrian who said she will assign Princess to follow-up with head office and get back to me. She also confirmed that, something does not seem right with the chains. She never phoned me back.

In January 2020 I spoke to Tidia on the Foschini customer care line and she said the handbag has been discontinued so she will find out from Luella as to what should happen in my case.

She then came back to me on 15.01.2020 stating that Foschini brand has confirmed that the bag comes like that but they have agreed that I should return the bag in the manner it was originally received.

This is where dishonesty comes in. This handbag could not have been discontinued if there was no fault with it. Secondly, I used the handbag and I explained that a week later I realized that something was not right. So how was the handbag supposed to be returned in the manner that it was received. I am being played here and ********** at the same time. The product is not giving me the value I expected and now Foschini is making plans not to take it back knowing exactly that it is faulty.
