THE MANAGER

On Saturday 7 November I received an SMS from Foschini stating that my card had been replaced, but if I had not instructed the replacement to phone Forensics on ***.
I DID NOT REPLACE MY CARD, so I phoned the forensics department on 9 November because when I phoned on Saturday it was past your business hours.
When I phoned on Monday the consultant advised that there had been no replacement and that the sms must have been sent in error.

I accepted this only to receive another mail from Foschini customer services to enquire about "my" recent shop at Wonderpark. I HAD MADE NO PURCHASE!! . I IMMEDIATELY phoned the customer care to hear that I had apparently made a purchase of R13700!!! This is my entire credit limit. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN, I HAVE NOT LOST MY CARD, I HAVE IT IN MY HANDS.

Now the onus is on me to go to the Police station for an affidavit and prove that I have not made this purchase. Foschini should be the one to explain how it is possible for someone to make a purchase on my card when it is in my possession. What procedures do you have in place and how on earth are there not RED FLAGS when someone purchases for an amount of R13700. I firstly live in Pretoria East, not close to Wonderpark and if you look at my credit record and longstanding account with Foshini you will see that I have an excellent record and buy very conservatively.

You have lost a GOOD CUSTOMER AND I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR DEBT INCURRED BY A THIRD PARTY ON MY NAME.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I EXPECT URGENT FEEDBACK.
