Foschini, my non-ending Nightmare

4 Months after I have settled my account, Foschini still says I owe them. I sent them proof of payment, settled letter from collection agency and all I get is:

Thank you for your e-mail. The account was sold over to a Collection agency.

Please note that the balances are frozen as at the time the debt is SOLD and no payments or transactions (including store payment) can affect this balance. We are rightfully retaining record of the account in the state it was as at the time it was ceded / sold and is no longer the property of TFG.

We cannot clear the account balance or remove the account from the database. This however does not affect the Bureau records as the responsibility to update the client’s credit record after settlement lies with the collection agency.

The Collection agency says they have cleared my name, Foschini must clear from their side.

I was doomed the day I walked into the Foschini stores.
