I have been a Foschini account holder since 1982. I went to pay my monthly instalment on the 30 November at Tygervalley branch. Their systems were down and a manual receipt was issued to me. A few days later I received a SMS telling me my account will be going into arrears. I have had an issue with SMS's charged on my account before, merely reminding me to pay. I followed up the query with head office , only to be told that I must send through my proof of payment as they were not going to contact the branch. I duly did this and a few days later received another reminder via SMS. I phoned head office again and was told they would follow up with Tygervalley branch. I made it very clear I was not prepared to pay for any SMS's or interest charged to my account for the "so called" late payment. Well, I have now received my latest account with two SMS's charged, of which one has been credited, interest charged at R36.34 and a letter stating that to maintain my excellent credit record, I must please pay the minimum amount due every month. I have an amount of R230.00 in 30 days ( I paid R300) and a current amount of R230.00. What more must a consumer do? As customers, we are told that telephone calls are recorded- well maybe they should listen to the calls I made regarding my issue.
