Foschini cellphone insurance a ****

Im using a friends phone i have a problem with Tfg(foschini group) i insured my phone in 2018 so last year Dec i lost my phone submitted all the necessary documents and they tell me my claim is denied cz i was negligent but all along i thought loss was covered,im not letting this slide i want an appeal on my claim and an approval
