Distasteful customer experience at Foschini Jeffreys Bay

I had my second terrible experience in the store on Saturday, 23 September 2023. I went in for a quick makeup session, which I did not book for but because according to me the store was not busy and there were two ladies in the makeup/perfume section which I saw an opportunity to get my face done to go attend a wedding that afternoon.

To my surprise the friendly makeup artist was badly embarrassed by her manager Infront of us customers because she was busy with makeup and not attending to an empty store. Shouting that that she is not allowed to be assisting us but according to my experience as I had my makeup done many times at Canal Walk in Cape Town and had never experience such rudeness.

I was deeply offended by what transpired and the embarrassment the makeup artist had to experience because of paying customers. I brought products in order to get my face done and did not mind at all as I know how it works but for the managers lady to make me feel like I was being done a favor for. I actually paid with my hard earned money to look good and we work hard to look good at the end of the day hence I did not mind, anyway it is products that I needed in any case.

I was also wondering if were we being treated that way because we were not white and our money is not good enough as I feel it would have been different if we were white maybe we would have gotten preference or their internal store issues being sorted out somewhere else and not in our presence.
