Customer information not secure

<p>I received a text message saying I needed to respond with my correct email address for my e-statements because delivery had failed to the one they have on record.</p> <p> </p> <p>The email addressin the text message was for an old closed account and I never respond to these types of messages, so I called foschini on ********** and was transferred to a consultant, Nathan, in their accounts department.</p> <p> </p> <p>Behold - it really was Foschini who admitted to a system error where they used all the details from my old account, closed 5 years ago, but magically kept the cell number from my application accepted last year.</p> <p> </p> <p>The consultant asked me for my ID and addresses, which was matched to a place I relocated from over 4 years ago, and proceeded to take my new address to correct their records, which is a ******** dream call!!!</p> <p> </p> <p>I asked him to access the application from September 2016, which he confirmed was on record, but he could not, so I asked him to add some sort of note to request the customer's ID or something in store, but he could not and was sure that the security questions he already asked was enough to change my details over the phone, when I stressed how uncomfortable this lack of security made me feel he said the only other option was to update my details in store, duh...</p> <p> </p> <p>What would stop anyone from calling in to change my details and buy on my account? All they need is my ID number and the rest is just *****ing mail.</p>
