Credit report shows account active when it should show closed

I came out of debt review and contacted foschini to reinstate my account, I was told via email and sms that I do not qualify for credit which is fine however I have requested several times that the credit bureau should be updated cos it's still shows that my account is opened!! If I cant get credit why cant they just close my account instead of it showing open account on my credit report???
