Closed account

I settled my account with Foschini Store on 17/11/2015 and called on 25/11/2015 to confirm that my EFT payment has gone through and gave instructions for the account to be closed. I was given a reference ***AE by Alvinia and was advised to cancel a cellphone insurance which was going through the account which I also did and spoke to Khanyi to have the insurance cancelled. I did not receive a monthly statement in December 2015 which ensured me that my account was closed to my surprise in January I received a statement and a letter of collection from Foschini in which the account has fallen into arrears and I am being threatened that the account will be handed over for collection of R140- something and that the credit bureau will be notified of my arrears. This is humiliating to think that I made sure that this account is paid up on time and has never been in arrears for years. <br> <br> Kindly help me to ensure that this account is closed and a confirmation to this effect is done.<br> <br> Regards<br> Henrietta
