Chanel Change Au Tendre EDP a waste of money
On 8 August 2019 I bought a 100ml bottle of Chanel Change Au Tendre EDP from Foschini Garden Route. Although a 25% discount was applicable it was still very expensive R1 762.50 especially for a pensioner who had decided to spoil herself having recently lost her spouse. The perfume does not last at all - I may as well not be wearing any perfume - so on Tuesday 17 September I went to Foschini and requested a refund or credit. My bottle of perfume was taken to the back of the store somewhere together with a tester for EDT in the same fragrance. (Why may I ask did they have to go to the back of the store? Why not do it in front of me?) The admin manager then appeared and asked me to smell in an effort to show me that the EDP was stronger than than the EDT. I don't accept this as valid proof that the EDP was significantly stronger if it was not done in front of me. Someone apparently phoned the rep for the product. Did they in fact???? I was told in conclusion that the store would lose money if they refunded me the cost of the perfume. That surely isn't the customer's problem? Should the manufacturing company via the rep not bear the cost? On Friday 20 September I decided to pursue the matter and phoned Foschini and asked to speak to the store manager. I was told she was not in the store and would only be back on Monday. (It is amazing how whenever one requests to speak to a store manager they are on lunch or on leave.) I would appreciate some feedback BOTH from Foschinis AND from the rep for the manufacturer of Chanel perfumes.
