Card swiped twice for 1 transaction

I bought a foundation on the 31st of July...and 1 transaction was processed on my card,1st swipe the lady said my card declined even though it went through & said approved,we then swiped 2nd time & again was approved & processed. As i left the shop i received to smses to show that money went through twice,was late for my meeting then went back the following day. I showed the lady the smses,no apology or anything she just said rudely that she wants proof that i must bring a bankstatement...now my question is the transaction was for R169.00, so i must drive all the way to the glen mall or park station as i bank with bidvest to get bank statement how much will that cost me, again to get a statement tge bank will charge me certain fee & for the money again to be reversed back into my account the bank will charge me certain fees so at the end of the day how much would i spend just to get my money back?? Was it my fault that all this happened???
