Blacklisted After Paying all Debt

<p>I had a Foschini account a few years ago, payments always made never really skipped payments unless there were reasons. "It can happen to anyone." I then went to work in the USA for 6 months, I couldn't make payments from there and decided to sort out my account with Foschini when I return to SA. When I got back I received letters from lawyers that I need to pay outstanding amounts. I agreed as I was in the wrong, I then paid off a monthly fee. I haven't received any statements to show me what I owe them for about 5 months until I enquired about it. I then received a a statement stating that I have two payments remaining, I paid those two payments and requested a letter to clear my name as I don't want to be blacklisted. I received a letter stating that I have paid in full via email. A few months later my email account was hacked and I lost the letter along with my account. </p> <p>I now try to apply for credit, rentals of housing and a vehicle and I get blocked. And the consumers say that I still owe money to the Foschini group. I have no record of anything as I have lost my email account, what do I do to recover the records and how do I prove that I have had a letter that stated my name to be clear? </p> <p> </p> <p>This is very frustrating and unfair. I would like to sort this out, even when I go into a Foschini store, they tell me to contact another company that is not even Foschini... </p>
