Beware of Redmi Note 9T!

I bought a Redmi 9T phone from Foschini about 6 months ago. I have kept the unit in great condition. I have dropped it a few times of course, but since the purchase date, I have kept it in a protective case and screen guard. Almost 2 weeks ago now, the unit just stopped working! Literally switched off on its own. Naturally I returned the unit to Foschini as it still has a warranty. I was informed that the turn around time for a phone repair is about 3 weeks!😦 In 2022! After numerous emails to Foschini and the Xiaomi repair centre, I was able to get feedback today. The Xiaomi reps quoted me approximately R2200 to repair the phone!! 😡 Literally 3/4 of the purchase price of the phone!! They claim the phone *****s are missing and that the volume button won't work! I was clearly sold a defective unit which they now expect me to pay for!! The warranty covers all repairs that aren't hardware faults!! I am beyond appalled at the service I am receiving from both Xiaomi and Foschini! They have sold me a **** phone and gone on to try and charge me to fix it!! DON'T BUY THIS PHONE, Complete waste of money!
