Back and forth trying to unblocked a blocked card

I forgot my foschini card on saturday at the store. The staff instead of contacting me decide to block the card. When i go to the store to fetch my card i find it is blocked and they call the centre to unblock. They tell me i failed the security check questions therefore i need to bring ID and proof of residence. I do that the next day, only to be told it must be a bank statement. I have a few questions and they frustrating. 1 why block my card without my permission, 2 why not state that it must be bank statement and i don't understand how a foschini statement is not enough, 3 why can i not email these things to head office,why must you go to the store. It is such an inconvenience, we live a digital age ffs!!.
