As Peter Cheales titled his book, "I was your customer"

Had just arrived in Herm**** for an overnight (sad family business) and suddenly realised I had forgotten to pack in underwear so a quick detour to Foschini's where I found a pre-pack of 5 panties, but only 1 size on the rack. This meant having to try a pair on and, yes, I am fully aware that shops don't like one to fit panties but, as I said to the person attending to me, I would keep my own panties on and slip these new ones over and "Please help me as I'm desperte". Nothing doing, so I tried getting her to accompany me to the changing room so she could watch me. Nothing doing. I asked to see a supervisor. "I am the supervisor". I asked to see the manager. "I am the manager". No effort at all,no initiative to help a customer - and from my face she could see I was elderly (over 70) and exuding desperation. I thrust the box at her to which she retorted, "You're rude". No, supervisor/manager: I wasn't rude, but I was one hell of an angry customer.

Surely Foschini's train their staff to be enterprising and in really warranted cases to break a rule to help a customer? Seems not.

Did I expect someone from Foschini's to contact me? Of course not! Especially after that automated reply. If I hear "We apologise for any inconvenience caused" once more I'll vomit. Don't companies realise how offensive that comment is?
The latest is that I actually bought a pack of panties, took them home and returned them to the shop the next day saying"they don't fit" and got my money back. Now how would I have established that unless I had tried them on at home?
So all of you out there: ignore the rule of not being allowed to fit panties on; simply buy them, take them home/back the next day and voila! A credit is yours.
How's that for hyocritical?
