Avoid Ford Credit !!!

Almost a year ago I got retrenched. On the 20th of July 2022 after receiving my retrenchment documents, I contacted Ford credit to ask what steps I need to take to activate the retrenchment policy I took out with them when I bought the car by them. You would think that details like this would be on your Ford credit profile.

The lady that helped me over the phone gave me the wrong policy company details but this I only realised when the wrong policy company phoned me back to say but the retrenchment policy is not with them. No one at Ford Credit could help me locate the correct Company. I had to go down to the dealership where I got the car in order to get the proper retrenchment policy details. Keep in mind this is on the 5th of Aug 2021. This now caused that the 1st month of the retrenchment policy to be paidout to word to cover the installment.

My headache did not stop there...... Twice in the 6months the retrenchment policy paid the full amounts to Ford Credit, my account was handed over that said I was behind (more then 2 months installments) just to let the Retrenchment policy company have to contact them and show that money was paid but Ford Credit did not allocate it to my account.

After the 6 months passed I still struggled to get employment and made arrangements to pay an x amount till I get employment and make further arrangements to settle the outstanding amountsof the last few months. I tried to pay what I could, but at least I still paid something.

I finally got work again last month June 2022, and paid the full installment plus a bit more so that I could get the process running so long to get the outstanding amount paid in the next 3 months. I emailed them to please send me the statement to see how much the account was in arrears, which I got the following day (28 June 2022) and on the same day asked to forward me the details of someone with whom I can make arrangements with for the next 3 months to get the outstanding amount settled.

After phoning numerous times and being on hold for more then 15 minutes, I only heard back from the company they handed my account over to on the 15th of July 2022, despite me trying to get in contact with them to make arrangements.

I tried to make the arrangements which I originally wanted to make with Ford Credit via the company I got handed over and was told the amount I want to pay this month etc, they wont accept.

So Ford Credit......after this first installment that I missed due to the lack of your companies inability to keep your clients records on the system, the first installment I missed, was not my fault aswell as you inability to allocate funds to the propper account - also not my fault. But what I do tae accountability for is the last few months I paid short and even made arrangements that once I get employed I want to try and settle the account and got ignored, you hand me over.

In 3 months I could get the account settled but now you opt for no payment if I cant pay what YOU want me to pay (even though I currently cant afford it).

You most probably also going to ignore this.

I would advice people to thinks twice before buying on credit with Ford.
