Flex Club has hidden and hefty costs

Flex Club claims there's no hidden costs but it's false advertising. Their communication is so poor and you end up spending more money than you budgeted for. My boyfriend has a subscription with them but originally asked for a subscription of R5600. He was told that they didn't have that car available at that time but they assured him they would follow up with him. Nothing happened. He's still stuck with a R6300 subscription. Then there's the mileage issue. The first month, he missed the email of submitting his milleage (it was in his spam folder) Then he was told more than a month after that he had to pay an extra R2000 for milleage. When he asked for a ledger of the mileage, it was confirmed that he didn't exceed the milleage, in fact it was below. But they wouldn't budge and said he still had to pay for 'extra milleage' for not submitting it. I understand that he needed to submit the mileage but a fee of R2000? And how are they calculating these fees? Where are the terms and conditions and breakdowns of these hidden fees? Then the cherry on the cake, the subscription increases by more than R700 without notice. My boyfriend speaks to someone (Zola) on customer care chat to ask about why there's been an increase on his subscription. Zola says he was contacted on a specific date over the phone and was told about the increase which he supposedly agreed to this didn't happen. Customer care **** to to him. There was no communication about an increase - and shouldn't there have been an email sent out months ago to inform the customers about an increase? It's 10 days before the subscription needs to be paid and they're asking us to pay R7000 for this subscription now, including a mileage fee. At this point, my boyfriends account is being drained and we don't trust this company. There's always a hidden cost and such poor communication. It feels like we're been cheated out of our money and honestly we're considering canceling our subscription. Businesses with unfair and dishonest practices shouldn't be allowed to get away with things like these.
