Retrenchment Claim

I had a personal loan with Finboand and submitted a retrenchment claim on 25 Nov 2014. Finbond stopped debitting my acc thereafter but a debit went through on 12 Dec 2014. I contested that debit as I was no longer in employment. A refund was processed late Jan 2015 and received a confirmation that insurance settled the account. A debit order went through for R2800 on 27 March 2015.Upon enquiry, Jessica told me that there still one instalment outstanding. I referred there query to her Area Manager Steven whose been unco operating to down-right refusal to assist when I tell him that this is an equalent to theft from my bank Account and I consider to treat that way. I am currently un-employed and cannot afford that instalment as per affordability assessment.

Hello HenryMdaka69,

Dear Mr Mdaka

Your letter of retrenchment only came into effect from end of November 2014 which meant that you were still liable for the November 2014 instalment on your account with Finbond. The insurance only covered your outstanding instalments from December 2014. Your personal undertaking to repay the outstanding instalment for November 2014 was not honoured by you. For this reason your account was debited again to collect your outstanding instalment and your insurance settled the remainder of your outstanding balance. This mutual bank confirms that your account is now paid in full.

Kind regards
