Reckless and irregular lending

I am following up on how Finbond has opened 4 loan accounts for my family member who is a 83 year old pensioner and taking one third of her pension salary for loan repayments.

We went to query at the Finbond Athlone branch and have received a run around for the last month:
- Her file could not be located at the branch or head office to detail when all facilities were opened

- Have been told no one knows anything as the consultants who opened the facility have resigned

- She has received countless calls from Finbond's lawyers regarding the accounts, but on query at the branch, we were told that the accounts were in good standing and we should ignore the lawyers calls

- Have never received a statement from Finbond and have no indication on how the R3000pm debit order is allocated to the 4 loan accounts

- No clear answers on why 4 separate Finbond accounts were extended to a 83 year old pensioner, breadwinner and earning minuscule monthly government pension

Kindly get back to us as a family we would like these loans resolved and closed. Further more, we would like no further loans being extended recklessly and without due consideration to the financial constraints

Reviewer Update

Finbond contacted my family and all issues were resolved. The account was subsequently closed and refund was made to the family member as part of a settlement agreement.
