Speedy Installation and configurations

After an initial period where they alerted people in the complex about the FTTH offerings, they began installations. Registered my interest on their website, confirmation of installation was then put through and a date received of proposed installation. Takes about a week.

The installation company they work with DAC were quite efficient, drilled through the wall and neatly layed the cabling into the apartment. Cleaned up afterward as well.

Once installation was done, YOU have to phone in to alert Fibrehoods, configuration is done remotely. Fibrehoods alerts your service provider (in my case WebAfrica that everything is done, they then arrive and install their router). Their ticket system is a bit slow, had to get them on twitter, but if they raise their support levels to that of WebAfrica or Afrihost then they can be so much better.

The period from registering interest to final installation in my case is skewed, as I had taken a rather long holday from decemeber to late january. At most, if I had been around, it would have taken 3 weeks from start to finish to get Fibre, no more Telkom!!!

Have had a good experience with them non the less.
