Have to fight for everything

I have been in the "installation" stage of the setup for a week now. The technitions that they are associated to are useless. They show up at least 1 hour late for their respective tasks and don't complete the job on the first visit.
When I enquired about the setup precedure I was told that I would have to have a site survey completed then the line would be installed after which the ISP would dispatch the router and set it up.

I later find out that there is actually another step in the setup process, "splicing" . This requires you to call the call center, be transefered to the installation depatment again and then book a splicing. This is the same department that you book the installation through. Had I known that I needed splicing done as well I would have booked this at the same time.

I had made arrangements for there to be someone at home to be able to oversee the workers as they did the splicing in the house but because they arrived over 1 hour late the erson I had arranged had left. The workers then don't call me to inform me that they can't get into the house, they just leave.

This company has a long way to go to get a good service rating. If this is what to expect form Fibrehoods I fear for the future of their company.

Ok, so I called the home installation department and managed to get them to send the guys out on the same day to complete the job. They worked quickly and were done in about 20 mins.

Due to the fact that they were able to dispach the technitions on the same day I have increased the rating. Hopefully this is the start of a better relationship.

Just a not to anyone that wants to use Fibrehoods, don't expect things to happen quickly on their own. Use the call center and make sure you follow everything up the day after the process has been completed to ensure that everything goes smoothly. It is a hassle for the customer but at least you have a progress report.
Their call center is quite efficient but can get busy around lunch time. Ensure that you get the extention of the department before you are redirected otherwise you'll be waiting a while to served during peak times.
