Incompetence and poor service

I have received very poor treatment from FGRO with regards to discovery car insurance. Someone called me around August trying to convince me if I want a new car insurance. The gentle man asked me several questions and ended up giving quite an affordable premium with lower access and other benefits. I told him that I don’t want to continue as yet since I first want to see if my current insurer can just lower my premium since I’ve been with them for a few years now.

I called again before end of August saying telling FGRO to put a hold on the policy because I had not decided yet, which they did.

The issue came September month end. I called to inform them that I decided to stay with my current service provider and that they should cancel my policy completely. The lady said the debit will go through since the debit request was already sent to my bank account. She said she did, however cancel my plan and I should not expect any future debits except this one. She told me to call after the 1st of October (the day of debit) to request a refund.

When I called after the 1st of October, I was told that my policy is active and that there was no one who sent a request to cancel. I told the guy that I did call and I spoke to someone and told them my story and they told me they were going to cancel and request a refund for me.

My call was eventually transferred to the manager who after a while did see evidence that I had called. I told him that it was not my fault that the policy was not cancelled on time. I called before month end to cancel and someone did not do their job.

I still have not received my refund. No one has called or sent me any communication. I expected so much from discovery as I use them for my medical aid. I didn’t expect the poor treatment I received and I do hope that they will do what they should have done long time ago and send me my refund.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to be convinced by their supposed services, I’m not their client and I’m having it very hard.
