Utterly Disgusted

I am deeply frustrated and disappointed after following all of the instructions provided by Fed Health, only to be met with ongoing confusion and no resolution. Despite my understanding that my plan does not cover general anesthesia (GA) for a 5-year-old to undergo a dental extraction, I have been sent on a confusing and costly journey. Fed Health requested panoramic x-rays, which I had to pay for out of pocket, as they were not covered by my plan.

I have submitted multiple requests to the Dental Board, asking them to reconsider and approve coverage for GA, as sedation simply does not work for my child. My child’s medical history clearly shows that sedation is ineffective for them. It is unreasonable to expect a 5-year-old to undergo a painful procedure while struggling to tolerate even basic dental tools, let alone an extraction, given their extreme gag reflex.

I sincerely ask that you take this into consideration and provide a resolution that ensures my child can receive the necessary dental care in a safe and appropriate manner.
