unhappy customer

I was hospitalized in October 2014 at clinix tshepo-themba private hospital for 3 days. this year during feb I got a call from the hospital saying I owed them money I didn't understand this because I had medical aid and I thought it would help me when I was in need. but I was wrong they said that the medical aid i didn't cover some tests but how would I know which test they cover and don't cover while I'm sick and can't do anything? isn't it the hospitals responsibility to check that and why would they perform a procedure on a person if the medical aid won't pay I queried it with the medical aid I spoke to Maria mzinyane she told me she would investigate it I thought I was going to get help clearly not. today I receive a call from attorneys saying I the hospital has handed me over I don't know what to do please help
