Shame on you Fedhealth!!!

I am at my wits end and on the verge of a nervous breakdown because of Fedhealth.

I am disgusted by your lack of compassion and understanding.

In 2016, I went to go and see a Gynae at Mulbarton Hospital as I was struggling to conceive. (I got the gynae details from your preferred suppliers list back then).

I have been seeing this Gynae ever since however was on a lower medical plan and knew that I needed to contribute towards her as I only had one visit per year.

In 2018, I had my fist miscarriage, this Dr helped me and guided my husband and I through this difficult process. In 2019 I had my second miscarriage and the same doctor guided us through this very emotional time. I had to go into hospital for a DNC procedure. A week after the operation, whilst it is a very nice gesture, this wasn't nice at the time, I got a phone call on two separate occasions from Fedhealth staff to congratulate me on the birth of my child, I had to explain that I had actually had a miscarriage.

I am now sitting here on the 24th February 2020 with a baby boy due in June 2020. This should be an exiting time however Fedhealth, you have made this a very stressful time for me.

My husband and I found out that we were pregnant last year and upped our plan in December 2019 to Flexi Fed 2 Grid in order to have the maternity benefits.

Whilst I know you will say "read the fine print" we continued to see my Gynae who has been with us from the beginning and understands my fears and knows my journey to get to where I am today.

This gynae is now no longer on your preferred network list and now you are refusing to pay for her!!! Whilst we understand that this is most likely because her rate is more expensive than what you are willing to pay for which is why my husband and I enquired as to whether you can pay what you would have paid for a network specialist and we would cover the balance. This was outright refused when speaking to one of your consultants.

With a baby on the way this is financially stressful as there are other bills that we need to pay and all we are asking is for you to contribute what you would for a network specialist.

I dont understand why this cant be allowed taking into consideration that I am more than halfway through my pregnancy with a Dr that has been with me on this journey to fall pregnant and you are expecting me to change now. This is flippen stressful.

I have been informed by the receptionist that works at my doctor that there are other patients who are on the same plan as me and their bills get paid for. Does this even make sense???

I am not asking for much, I am just asking for you to pay what you would pay one of your network specialists.

My husband and I already pay so much towards a medical aid with you and we feel this is the least you could do taking our situation into consideration.

I would appreciate some feedback in this regard.

Thank you.
