Robbing the elderly of their benefits
My Mom is 83 years old and on a chronic medication for COPD . Her Pulminologist has changed her prescription to a medicine which is not on the Fedhealth chronic list so they refuse to pay even a portion of the medication . Why can they not just at least pay the equivalent amount they are currently paying for the current chronic medication ? Fedhealth unfairly benefits from this as they are now paying nil towards the chronic medication

06 Feb 2020, 12:33The Fedhealth brochure on the Fedhealth website states : " if the medicine on the formulary are not used a 40 % co- payment will apply ' Now I am told it is a 'non pmb medication 'and no portion will be covered - this is just another way of Fedhealth avoiding paying benefits . There is no mention on the Fedhealth brochure of 'non-pmb medications ' this is false / misleading information .
