Ridicuolous new claims system costs time and money

Fedhealth have just introduced a new system whereby a patient can not see a specialist without visiting a GP. This means that I can no longer see my specialist for my chronic BMP condition. I now have to go to my GP to get a doctor's letter to see my doctor of over 2 years. I have raised this with them only to get the overly enthusiastic PR **** with a preppy brochure to explain to me how they are going to make everyone's life more difficult in a typical medical aid scheme to save more money at their patients expense - because of course the patient now has to pay for 2 doctor's visits and not one. There is no claiming for that. <br> <br> I did not sign up for this scheme. I would never have signed a contract like this. I had no choice so where do I claim back for the inconvenience? My contract entitles me to 15 free specialist visits a year now I have to add on R500 odd rand to each visit - they are never going to cover that. <br> <br> My doctor now refuses to deal with Fedhealth. <br> <br> This is ********** treatment to patients and no amount of colourful brochures will make up for the time and money hundreds of thousands South Africans are going to waste to save Fedhealth money.
