Refuse to pay for ONCOLOGY despite there still is more than R150 000 available ONCOLOGY benefits

Fedhealth is the worst ever medical scheme ever. My sister was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in August last year. They paid for most of her medical cost, but refused to let her have a double mastectomy and refused to pay for any reconstruction. She has since had chemo therapy and Radiation. The oncologists prescribed Herceptin, a very specific breast cancer chemo every three weeks till the end of February 2023. Suddenly today she received a call that the will not be paying for the rest of her treatment de spite her Oncology benefits indicating that she has at least got R150000 left in her oncology benefit. I copied and pasted this from their Family room website.

Allowed R 480400.00 Used R 328523.74 Remaining R 151876.26.

This is preposterous and negligent to the greatest degree. I will definately be taking my whole family off their books asap. She has Flexifed 4 and was simply told that she has to upgrade to their exec plan if she wants coverage. That is more than R3000 per month extra premiums and she can only upgrade in January so the really do not care about what happens for November and December as far as her HERCEPTIN chemo is concerned. People should know that although FEDHEALTH used to be a very good medical aid it has now become a very expensive glorified Hospital plan.
