Refusal to cancel medical aid membership

<p>Sometime in November 2016 I requested cancellation of my medical aid because I was changing jobs, and was required to join the new employers preferred medical aid. The agent assisting me said I must send a medical certificate from new medical aid as soon as I receive it. He also said the cancellation will be backdated to 30/11/2016. I received the new medical certificate on the 14 Dec 2016, and then requested cancellation of the medical aid (sent the new medical certificate and employment confirmation). Today I decided to follow up since I have not received cancellation confirmation, the agent advised me that the medical aid will be terminated 31/12/2016 which means I'll pay for two medical aids in Dec 2016.</p> <p>Can the medical aid cancellation be backdated to 30/11/2016 as advised by the first agent that assisted me with the cancellation? Can you also send me cancellation confirmation?</p>
