Questionable business practices
I have been a member of Fedhealth Medical Aid since July 2015. When my contract ended with my previous employer 31 December 2015 I wanted to remain with them, requesting a debit order instated to have the monthly instalments automatically deducted from my bank account. I was contacted by a representative who requested my bank statements. I told him that I will not give them my statements, I will however give them a written confirmation from my bank. He refused, stating that it is a requirement from Fedhealth. I then requested a written explanation as to why a written confirmation is unacceptable, and the reason why they need to see my statements. I suddenly reveived a call from Mr Venter stating that the confirmation is acceptable, and I must complete a new application. He then requested that I pay for the months of January and February, even though I was not covered by the medical aid during that period. I obviously refused. He understood, and said that I must just complete the application forms. I app**** to become a member again from 1 March 2016. I was accepted, but from 1 April only with a 3 month waiting period! I requested an explanation from them, yet they now ignore me.
