Paid next to nothing for emergency c section

I had a horrible, dangerous pregnancy with my first child almost 2 years ago. I found a wonderful and comparatively inexpensive gynae (he was one of many that I saw for my condition but was almost half the price of the others).<br> When I fell pregnant again, with an 80% chance of having the same condition as I had in my first pregnancy, I obviously went back to the same doctor. Fed Health warned there would be a Co payment as he wasn't on their (very limited) network. I wasn't going to change at this stage to some unknown doctor on the other side of johannesburg, especially as finding a gynae you feel comfortable with is so difficult. Any woman would tell you that. Especially one who had previously had a complicated pregnancy.<br> I was horrified to hear at the end of this that, of the R 12000 for my EMERGENCY cesarean, Fed Health paid only R3863. I have since researched it and have found dozens of similar complaints about Fed Health's cesarean allocation. After having one child while on Discovery, and the second on Fed Health I can only warn people who want to have kids one day not to join Fed Health because this is unacceptable. Even after I complained, and my gynae wrote a motivation.
