Misleading Network Specialist list provided by Fedhealth - very unhappy and stressed pregnant client

I'm very disappointed with the hospital and specialist options given to memebers on the scheme, and how miselading the provided list has been.

I am pregnant, and early on in my pregnancy I took care to select a gynae I would be comfortable with FROM the list of Fedhealth Network Specialists, so that I would be covered fully for the delivery of my baby. There are not many options to start with, most of the gynaes had zero online reviews or were in areas too far or unsafe.

I found some gynaes on the Network list, and on the same Fedhealth list it shows their details, and the hospitals they preactice at. Naturally I assumed that the hospitals mentioned on the Specialist network must also be on the Network list, ... however I have just found out that not all of the Hospitals mentioned on the list are Network Hospitals. I only disovered this today, after already selecting my gynae, attending an open day to view the maternity ward of the hospital, and getting confortable with the thought of having my baby there. It was only when wanting to book a bed that I discovered that the hospital I chose is not on the network, and that there would be a huge co-payment if I had my baby at the hospital.

(It is also necessary for me to mention that I did try and view the list of Network hospitals online however when searching, the search is non-responsive. This is another reason why I assumed that the hospitals listed next to the Specialists would be the network hospitals. )

This is very frustrating. The list of network specialists that was provided by Fedhealth is completely misleading. This whole experience has been very stressful and disappointing and I now have to start again with the search for a hospital on the network that actually has speicalists practising there who are ALSO on the network,... and hopefully such a hopsital will be near enough to me, as well one that I would feel comfortable with.

I asked the call centre agents why they have specilists who practise at certains hopsitals on the Fedhealth network when the Hospital itself isn't on the network. They happily advised me that not all procedures need to be done in Hospital. My response is that I am on a Hospital Plan... so yes all my procedures would be IN hospital. I viewed the list that was given IN my plan - I didn't go looking at the lists for other plans.

Not a happy customer at all.
