Membership Terminated - Not understanding & Bad memory.
I would like to contest my termination of membership for the following reasons. I joined fedhealth in June 2017 when the membership became active 1/09/2017 I decided to go for checkups due to my age and not going for checkups in the past the gynecologist I went to wanted to remove some cysts and things he saw the medical aid contacted me said they want to investigate before authorizing the procedure at the time I thought it was because they thought it was a preexisting condition. Tatum from fedhealth called me the last week last week in September to ask my medical history and she mentioned a Doctor's visit in December 2016 I rep**** what doctor? I honestly had no recollection of the visit until she mentioned it and honestly when filling in the application form I understood treatment as being like treated for major illnesses. When speaking to Tatum and remembering about the visit I did no try to hide it I agreed yes I was there when having an aha moment and recalling the visit. I went to that doctor because since being sterilised in 2012 I wanted to not have a period anymore and went on the 3 month injection to try stop my period but this made me bleed heavily and for longer and the doctor gave me pills to stop the bleeding which I took for 3 days and had no problem again after that. I feel terminating the membership is harsh. The job I am currently employed at is my first job I was a house wife for 15 years and my ex-husband handled things like this because I am not as clued up with handling things I mean no disrespect to myself but I am not the brightest.I literally had to resend the application 3 times when I originally app**** with Fedhealth because I kept filling it in wrong. Do I now get so harshly penalised for honest mistakes and now recently adding my children to the medical aid that live with their father in Mossel bay why should they be penalised? I feel it's unfair can they not impose another waiting period rather than terminating myself or at least consider going forward with membership for my kids that have nothing to do with my mistake.
I am upset about this as I feel like they saying I intentionally **** which is not the case at all. PUNISHED FOR HAVING A BAD MEMORY AND NOT UNDERSTANDING. And they happened to notify me just after the next instalment went off. Other than this misunderstanding I think they are a good medical aid for low income earners but I think they could be more understanding that this was not done intentionally and have found another solution to this misunderstanding rather than being so harsh.
