MEDICAL AID RULES PUTTING MY CHILD'S LIFE AT RISK

We have been on Fedhealth medical aid 8 yrs+ & pay R6500 pm for 2 adults and 2 children, (age 2 & 5). My 5 yr old girl became ill overnight, and started coughing a wet cough and struggled to breath, she vomited phlem during the night, and had to sleep upright otherwise she could not breath. I contacted her pediatrician for an appointment, explained whats wrong and they immediately gave me an appointment on the same day. They however informed me that Fedhealth now want an authorisation nr when the child is older than 2. I contacted Fedhealth and they said the child must first go to a gp that I nd to pay for via my medical aid, before she can go to a pediatrician which will also be paid from my medical aid. So I hv to pay for both. This will be a two day+ process and by then she might have ended up in hospital. Their reason was that the gp need to detiremine which specialist is the right one to see. I do not need a gp to tell me a sick child should go to a pediatrician. I am more than capable to determine if a gp could help her. My child do not trust any doctor. My expense would only have been the peadiatrician and medicine, now I hv to pay for a gp also & risk her life. Why?
