Fedhealth seems to use every opportunity to deflect treatment requirement. My wife had to have a shoulder operation, and it was requirement to stay overnight but Fedhealth tried to slot it in for a day procedure. The stress that was caused was unbelievable taking days to get authorization. My wife wanted to cancel and postpose operation as she was heading for a nervous breakdown. But anyway, the op went ahead with a huge copayment and now we note that the hospital has been short paid, but this has to be investigated so more stress and hours on the phone to the call center, but will not pre judge outcome .Now to cap it all they will authorize a physio for one month BUT from date of discharge whereas under surgeons orders my wife had to wait for two weeks before physio could take place so effectively its two weeks. This is the way Fedhealth hoodwink the members as it seems that the persons on the call center at Fedhealth are more qualified than the doctors. We now pay in excess of R8000 per month for two people. So, my warning is preform Due Diligence before joining Fedhealth as the benefits from other medical aids are better with comparable rates.
