Life Changing medication for 12 year old declined.

I have a 12 year old boy who has been diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis in his hips and his lower spine. He has been in and out of hospital since November 2020. Even these costs were not covered in full and I had to make loans to be able to pay the co payments. He has been on medication from the Paediatric Rheumatologist with serious side effects and therefore cannot use it. He needs to be placed on a Biologic urgently. He is deteriorating to badly that he is becoming more and more immobile. He is missing out on school, he used to be a top achiever, the top cricket player and now cannot walk by himself!!! Fedhealth declined the life altering medication he needs which is a Biologic. I am on the lowest plan, however it is not even covered on the highest. This medication is given our free to patients in Gauteng and Cape town Government hospitals, but because I am paying medical aid my son cannot get it. The urgency of this medication cannot be expressed in words!!!!! Yet they don't even respond to the complaint we have lodged with the South African Medical Aid Council. They simply don't care that this child is suffering. I am a single mother and can in no way afford this medical aid so i am forced to watch this decline in his health.

I have the Children's Arthritis Association fighting with me and the complaint at the council, what more does this medical aid want from me to help my son? :-(

I am so stressed and tired. This mom is very disappointed in this medical aid.
