Immunisations and Pathetic Service

I am extremely unhappy and frustrated at this point in time!

You would assume that by taking you child for his immunisations that is (based on the state expanded program for immunisation) you actually minimising your childs risk and your medical aids risk of ending up in hospital with serious costs and illnesses.

Yes, I have changed clinics thinking they might be the ones that are wrong! Little did I know … this is not the case.

Fedhealths codes do not match any clinic vaccination codes. Every-time you visit your local clinic and pay out of your own pocket your medical aid just rejects your claim with no response whatsoever. Ask me, I have been struggling with this for more than 3months now.

All Immunisations have been paid out of my own pocket without ANY reimbur*****t from Fedhealth. I no longer wonder why mothers refuse immunisations! Paying an average of R500 per visit on top of your normal medicalaid fee and new joiner of your baby can become pricey. Likewise, vaccinations continue up until the age of 12years of age, you make the sum!

I have now gone to the extent of asking a Fedhealth consultant to send me the codes and praying that the clinic I visit can invoice based on their Fedhealths requirement, instead of the Clinic’s own Internal “system”!

It is a absolute joke: Fedhealth will rather pay for your child to end up in hospital than reimburse your costs of immunisations. Pathetic…
