I have an eye condition that will render me blind

On the 11/03/2015 i found out i have keratoconus in both my eyes, a disease that cause double/ghost vision, i found this out at the optometrist when trying to get new specs, i saw a specialist who recommend i have cross linking done, as i can barely see from my left eye, with this my right eye over compensates and is in the early stages of keratoconus as well, they sent for approval and i was told it was declined (a first ever for that specialist's office) My eye sight is deteriorating by the day, i cant get new specs or contacts because they don't work so it would be pointless, i suffer from frequent headaches so bad that im booked off for days because i work on a PC with numbers daily. My question is how does Fedhealth reject a procedure that would stop it from deteriorating so i could get specially made specs or contacts?? The procedure cost R8000 per eye... I pay R4000+ on medical aid a month but they wont stop me from loosing my vision, i have tried to raise the money in the last couple of months but have been unsuccessful. How can i pay R16000 in medical aid in 4 months but i cant get treatment. i must overall im happy with FH but very disappointed by this experience
