getting a referral letter to go see my specialist

I have been a patient and have been treated by a ENT for the Past 3 years.<br> <br> need to go back to him for a check up now i need a authorization number.<br> which was never the case.<br> <br> i call the call centre they tell me i need a referral letter from a GP.<br> <br> which does not make sense, i need to go pay consulatatiion fee's to get a damn letter... go to my Specialists<br> and then pay there to which is all coming from my saving.<br> <br> does not make sense...
