Fedhealth wont pay for mammogram or gynae

<p>I have been with Fedhealth for over 15 years. I went for a gynae checkup with one of Fedhealths network gynaes and he told me that at 45 i should also go for a mammmogram, which i did. Both my gyane visit and mammogram has been rejected by Fedhealth. They say that they only pay mammograms for women over over.</p> <p>"Kindly be advised that mammograms are payable to women, 50 to 74 years old, 1 every 3 years.<br /> Therefore the claim for service date 27/06/2016 for the amount R 1396.80 was rejected. You are liable for this account."<br /> </p> <p>"The claim for your Dr ? (gynaecologist), service date 17/06/2016 was also rejected as no specialist authorisation has been requested and no day to day benefits available. I have loaded the specialist authorisation, however this is subject to OHEB(out of hospital expense benefit) and Savings"</p> <p> </p> <p>I am disgusted with Fedhealth, i pay over R5000 a month for medical aid and have almost no benefits. Surely these things should be covered. Any doctor will tell you that a woman in her 40's needs to have a mammogram and a chekup for cervical cancer. God forbid i have cancer, i will probably be refused treatment.</p> <p><br /> I am definitley looking for another provider, disgusted</p>
