fedhealth treat their top paying customers with the utmost contempt

fed up with fedhealth? i am too!

join this medical aid or sorry excuse for a scheme, at your peril!

fedhealth wants you to join their family but i think there are a whole lot of families that are fedhealth clients that are sickened by fedhealths allusion to themselves as being part of ones family

as disgusting, as fedhealth treat their customers like garbage and cynically abuse their captive market status in some cases, and i am not the only one to note this.

many other complainants on hellopeter have come to the same conclusion

they are insensitive, unprofessional, discourteous, non transparent and non straightforward as well as meting out callous and cold hearted treatment-not the qualities that one would want in a family member?

i wasnt healthy enough to write this complaint for a while, partially as a consequence of the disruption to my treatment, occasioned by fedhealths inhumanity

for me and my parents, we pay fedhealth more than R22000 per month in premiums. no folks thats no typo. its as scary as that!

last year when my dog was dying, i was at the vet and i received a phonecall from a lady from fedhealth and so i rushed out of the surgery and stood outside. this woman was called monique who indicated that my pmb treatment application was successful, so i went for treatment but then fedhealth would not pay the claims, when i checked up why, i was asked who had authorised the sessions and i couldnt remember the name of monique as it was the first time that i had spoken to her and of course she didnt send me anything in writing, so i had to reapply and by then the doctors were full up as it was approaching holiday time

this year a series of applications for pmb treatment sessions were all rejected
this is despite my doctor indicating that it was critically important that i receive further treatment for the pmb conditions indicated, in order to avoid hospitalisation and a severe deterioration in my health status

as a consequence i have been ill and not receiving adequate care owing to fedhealths short sighted and meanspiritidness, and downright coldheartedness, arrogance, and impertinenece

not only did the pmb clinical people-not what i want to call them-
, did not even have the decency to inform me in writing of their decision to decline, each successive application, they did not offer any kind of reasonably detailed explanation., they also took more time than they were allowed to when deciding, and so and when i questioned why i have not received this important decisions in writing someone from customer service called dalene, in a cavalier fashion ,wrote to me saying that if they have communicated something to me verbally, even if it is an important decision, then they are not obliged to send me anything in writing

after the most recent application for pmb treatment sessions, when after nearly 10 working days, i phoned in about the pmb treatment application, they promised to call me back that same day but they didnt then the next day i followed it up again and towards the end of the business day when i followed it up, the lady called tilana, was actually quite angry and annoyed that i was following up again.
i should have been the only one that had the right to be angry in that circumstance.

the lady that eventually phoned me, with the verbal feedback wouldnt even give me her first name
she would even be straight up front and have the courtesy to tell me that fedhealth had declined my pmb application.

she then curtly told me that she would find out how much day to day benefit are left over to pay for treatment, and get back to me soonest, but of course she didnt do this

their verbal communications were even less detailed as they came from a customer service person, even though they call themselves an executive whatever.

i have also repeatedly received incorrect information, on the basis of which i had to make important decisions
monique admitted that at least twice in a short space of time i was given false information by frontline customer service staff

in my written correspondence to fedhealth i asserted the following

we would also like a reassurance that the limited budget allocated after i spoke to the nurse hannelie, does not affect any other benefit that i may be eligible for or affect my treatment possibilities, facilities and benefits

i asked her (hannelie the nurse in the chronic disease management section), repeatedly whether this would be the case, and she assured me that it would not-no effect on any benefits, plans or treatment options

this is the only reason my doctor and i assented to it

then when i asked fedhealth for written feedback on why one of my pmb treatment applications had been declined

registration on the Fedhealth Mental Wellness Program is currently active and this program involves a holistic approach of treatment.
By being enrolled on the Fedhealth Mental Wellness Program the member has gained funds that he can utilize and that it is all treatments that are funded from this benefit and not medication.

so i was offered the benefit above, under false pretences !
the only other interpretation that one could apply to it, is that the person offering the benefit to me, did not know what she was talking about, which is a distinct possibility

i have learnt my lesson regarding the last issue
when fedhealth offer you a benefit, you need to count your fingers later

horribly dissappointed with the depraved treatment from fedhealth.

you would think that at R22000+ for three members of a family, that one would get excellent service rather than being treated worse than garbage.

i have written in to them with complaints but i just get no response sometimes-i wrote in and didnt get a response even by 10 business days, to some written questions. hence my hellopeter complaint

i am sad to see that many other people are complaining about similar things to me.
