Fedhealth suspends medical without any warning and informing me why
Fedhealth is really the worst medical aid I ever had. On Friday, I received an email (only one sentence long) stating that my medical had been suspended due to a contribution shortfall. Firstly, there was nothing specified why there is a shortfall as I am paying my contributions each month and no banking details or anything else was specified in the email. Fedhealth should advise their members, if there is a shortfall and (IMPORTANT) that you intend to suspend a medical aid for an apparent shortcoming of R1242. When I phoned the Fedhealth call centre trying to find out what is happening, I waited 45 minutes on the phone without any person wanting to help me (since my daughter-in-law phoned for me). I am still clueless why my medical aid has been suspended for an apparent small amount that is outstanding. I am just guessing that this is when Fedhealth took over from TOPMED. Fedhealth wants to recover the savings amount paid by TOPMED stating that TOPMED paid the doctors from the savings account, but their plan does not include a savings plan. If that is the case, please inform me how this is legal. TOPMED was closing and I was taken over by Fedhealth (definetely not by my own choice). I am still on the same level of plan. For example, if I join a gym and get lockers for free, but the gym closes and is taken over by a new gym, I am certain that the new gym can't recover money that I owe for my locker since the lockers have to be paid at the new gym. Dear Fedhealth, please inform me urgently, why you suspended my medical aid. since you do not even reply to my email.
