Fedhealth's Incompetancy Strikes Again!!!

I am extremely discontented with Fedhealth's service. I have to repeatedly write to them but to no avail. They only send query file numbers. The last was sent to me in November 2016. I'm still awaiting a response. My membership number is ********** 4346.

My first point of contention is that I have enquired in March 2016 regarding my optometrist's bill, which was charged twice. And I had to pay in R536 from my own pocket of which I still have not received my claim.

I have also been charged THRICE for adcodol on one claim. On querying both the extra charge for the optometrist and adcodol, there has been no response.

I have had 15 PMB sessions confirmed with my psychologist and 15 with my psychiatrist. My psychologist's sessions are used up but I still have 8 remaining for my psychiatrist. However, 2 of my psychiatrist's sessions were charged from my savings and not PMB. On quering this, they only mention that my psychologist's PMB is used up, and no mention of my psychiatrist's. I am fully aware of both PMB statuses.

Furthermore, I have had my epilepsy and anti-depressants confirmed as chronic medication. The epilepsy has been coming off as chronic but not the anti-depressants. This has been coming off from my savings and when that was depleted I have been paying for it from my own pocket.

Their reasoning is that they had approved Ranflocs and not Nuzak but it is Ranflocs that I have been getting all the time. The only time I had requested Nuzak was when the pharmacy was out of stock and I had paid for it!

Fedhealth's other rationale for not covering this chronic is that I get it from two different branches of Clicks and therefore the system does not register it. When I prematurely request my meds from either Clicks branch, the system immediately denies it, so there is no logic to their claim. They also state that I need to go to Med-Rite pharmacies and not Clicks. Firstly, Medi-Rite is inconvenient for me and secondly, does this mean that all private pharmacies will not be supported by Fedhealth?

To add insult to injury, they claim that I owe them R3000! Their admin is inefficient and *********** and they do not take responsibility for it. I assume that they feel that the member should be satisfied with their ridiculous reponses.

I have major depression and went through a very difficult grieving period. Amidst all this, I still need to deal with Fedhealth. Their slogan "Family Takes Care of Family" should really be reviewed, as they definitely don't!!!
