Fedhealth medscheme - PROBLEM- FOR CARPEL TUNNEL SURGERY BOTH HANDS 1 OP or 2 !

<p>Trying to get authorisation for 1 operation instead of 2 to do the same job, Fedhealth seems to be as obstructive as possible with the hope that you just give up! </p> <p>Recommendation of Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon is a Bilateral(2) Carpel Tunnels ( done together with Endocopic release) This is for major neurolysis. If you don't have this soon (in my case), the nerves in both wrists can die and weak hands is the result forever! Fedhealth declined this and prefer 2 separate operations, twice for surgeon, anaesthetist, hospital admission, longer, increased cost time 2x 45mins as opposed to50 to 60minutes for bitlateral carpel tunnel syndrome, instead of 90minutes for 2 operations where they cut both wrists!!!</p> <p>.It is also MUCH CHEAPER for all concerned. The wound would not open like it could (decreased wound dehiscence) with the other option.</p> <p> </p> <p>DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL?</p> <p>Therefore endoscopic release is much more preferable with much improved recovery time by 2-3 weeks!</p> <p> </p> <p>This Fedhealth family seems to be a contradiction in terms!</p> <p> </p> <p>The problem too is that you cannot talk to anyone of authority - you just get given a reply to the Motivation which is ignored.</p> <p> </p> <p>Someone please help!</p> <p> </p> <p>New Hellopeter person!</p>
