Fedhealth Medical Scheme Cruel Medical Aid Ever

My wife and took out medical aid with Fedhealth in April 2019. She was pregnant when we took out the medical aid which we had told Fedhealth and we also told them that we will pay for the birth since we know they medical aid won't. After our membership was approved we asked about whether our child would cover once he was born and what kind of waiting period will apply. Fedhealth's response was no waiting period will apply because he will be born into the medical aid and added that all of this will apply as long as we registered him within 30 days of born.

Soon after that we joined the we found that our baby has a birth defect that might need an operation soon a after his birth to correct it. We contacted Fedhealth with this update and their response was a pre authorization will be needed and we were also told about R4200 co-payment that will be applicable. We then sent all the required documents on the date of birth and after a few days our baby still wasn't covered. We called to escalated the issue as our baby need to be operated. On the day of the operation we were called and told our membership is terminated because we did not disclose the pregnancy to the medical aid. We have disputed this and since that was one of the first things we had mentioned to them.

They said they will investigate the matter and they haven't since. They refuse to give us the voice recording that show that we had actually explicitly communicated the pregnancy with them. Another lady heard about our story and contacted me and told me that Fed health did the same to her when she was pregnant. The paid for all her antinatal care and Dr bills and when she needed to give birth they refused to pay claiming that she also didn't disclosure her pregency.

Since then I read about fedhealth tendency to refuse to cover members and use non disclosure as their reason. The other part is fedhealth good at is look good in public when people complain on Social media platform. They are always the first to contact you and saying "please send us your membership details so the we can look into this matter" which is just a PR stunt they use to seem thoughtful and make as if they care about your unhappiness for they uncaring, cut throat way of doing business.

As it stands, my son is in ICU and we have a massive hospital bill. fedhealth is a USELESS medical aid.
